Artist's statement as written in the exhibition:

Evdokia’s practice explores private and public realms through repetitive experimental processes and the material translation of everyday domestic objects. Through her installations Evdokia reveals a series of familiar ordinary objects and how they can be defaulted; evolving into new possibilities of colour, shape, material and encounter. Due to the origin of the objects and the display of her work she aims to relate and encourage the audience to interact with it, thus giving a different dimension to the piece. In this way, the performative part of her piece and audience meet together to add a new element of her work. This is mostly done by the deformation and almost completely deconstruction of the objects forming a different outcome that alters throughout the performative process of the piece. She is interested in how we behave socially and creates works that lie between the normal and abnormal situations of everyday life through questioning the meaning and identity of ordinary objects by altering their material, composition and associated hierarchies. Furthermore, her work challenges the health and safety boundaries in everyday life. In both ways, she questions the functionality of objects and to an extent, how the systems, which determine everyday life and society are expected to function. Georgiou analyses how we engage with these domestic objects to create new dialogues between them, their meaning, materials and arrangement in space.
